Marijke Crab obtained her MA (2009) and Teacher Training Certificate (2010) in Classics from K.U.Leuven. Writing her Master’s thesis on Justus Lipsius’ study of the Roman historian Titus Livius, she developed a special interest in the field of Neo-Latin Studies and the history of classical philology. As a PhD Fellow of the Research Foundation – Flanders (Aspirant van het FWO Vlaanderen), Marijke is currently investigating humanist commentaries on Valerius Maximus. Her research project, entitled Exemplary Reading. Renaissance Commentaries on Valerius Maximus and the Rhetoric of Exemplum, is supervised by Professor Jan Papy.
